Solutia Inc. has had a manufacturing unit at the Monsanto
Antwerp plant since 1997. Monsanto has been a model host
during this period by supplying excellent people, processes
and systems to manage and operate Solutia's facilities in
an exemplary fashion. Safety, quality and cost have
improved steadily under Monsanto's oversight which has
allowed us to confidently move forward on expansion plans
at the Antwerp facility. Monsanto's manufacturing know
how and experience are excellent assets which continue to
meet Solutia's chemical manufacturing needs.

Flexsys is the world's leading producer of rubber processing
chemicals used in manufacture of tyres and other rubber
goods. Born out of a JV between Monsanto and Akzo Nobel
in 1995, Flexsys has invested strongly in leadership
technology to reinforce its global position. A strong
endorsement of our high regard for the people and the
facilities in Antwerp was the selection of the site, in 1996,
for a major investment in the world's largest
antidegradants intermediate plant, employing novel,
patented technology. More recently, this has been followed
by further investment to consolidate European production
of our major Primary Accelerator products into the site. We
regard the Monsanto, Antwerp employees working on
Flexsys' behalf as part of our extended family, and in return
we receive dedicated service from high quality people.>

Ferro (Belgium) owns the Specialty Benzyl Phthalate
production unit at the Monsanto Antwerp site. The
business is an important part of Ferro's Polymer Additives
Division (PAD). This facility, operated by Monsanto
personnel since start-up in the late 1960's, became part of
Solutia in 1997, and was purchased by Ferro in 2000.
Dedicated Monsanto personnel continue to operate the
unit for Ferro's account. We are very pleased with the
excellent operational services provided, including high
standards of ESH, quality and cost management. We enjoy
excellent business relations with their key people. The unit's
operations manager, a Monsanto employee, is considered a
full member on Ferro's PAD business management team.
