The support departments at the site belong to Monsanto but provide services for all operating units. Services ---- include quality assurance, logistics, maintenance, project engineering, security, human resources, accounting, and utilities supply and information technology.

Waste water treatment: The site operates a completely mixed activated sludge waste treatment process.

Steam: Three boilers generating steam at 60, 30 and 10 bar.

Combined Heat and Power Unit.: A natural gas fired unit that produces electric power for export to the national grid and steam for use on site.

Electricity: Imported from the grid and generated on site by a backpressure turbine.

Demineralised water is produced by 3 separate units.

Compressed air: Air is produced and distributed to operating units for use at 6 bar.

IT services: A central department handles the IT needs of the site businesses. Fast ethernet LAN and WAN connection is available.

Total supply chain solution for operating units: This service is subdivided in four processes: Procurement, Planning and Customer demand management process, Orders to Cash Process, Distribution operation process

Maintenance: Direct maintenance personnel provide for the major and minor repairs of buildings, machinery and equipment at each Plant. In addition to these dedicated maintenance groups, central plant wide specialist services that support the entire Antwerp Plant can also be provided.

Access to road, rail and water: The site has a full road system built to a grid-iron design which can handle all commercial road vehicels. A railway line enters the site from the national rail network and is available for the handling of railcars.
Transportation by sea and barge is available via piped connections to our storage company neighbours Oiltanking

Quality Assurance laboratory: A centralized laboratory performs round the clock analytical services for all operating units at the Monsanto Antwerp Site. On average the lab currently generates 4000 analytical results per day and has a complete and automated calibration, maintenance and test sampling program to ensure fast delivery of accurate analytical results.

Human resources, including recruitment, training of personnel, compensation and benefits.

Fire fighting services The site operates a Safety Interventie Ploeg (SIP) for intervention in fire fighting and any other emergency situations. The role of the SIP teams is emergency containment, until the arrival on site of emergency teams, which are locally provided by the authorities.
